About us

At Sew & So’s, we blend decades of fashion design and teaching experience with a passion for sustainability and creativity. Our mission is to provide children and adults with a welcoming space to learn sewing, fashion design, and upcycling—building confidence, self-expression, and community while fostering a more thoughtful approach to fashion and the world around us.

  • Laura is an accomplished fashion designer and educator with a BFA from the prestigious London College of Fashion (UAL). In addition to her design training, she is a qualified teacher with years of experience working in Hoboken private schools and leading city-wide creative initiatives. For the past three years, she has facilitated Hoboken’s Arts in the Park program, bringing accessible creative experiences to hundreds of local children. Laura specializes in sewing, illustration, and patternmaking, and her passion lies in empowering students to discover their creativity through hands-on craft. She brings patience, structure, and a deep understanding of child development to every class, making fashion and upcycling approachable for all ages and abilities.

  • Debbie is a visionary NYC Creative Director and Senior Fashion Designer with over 35 years of experience building multimillion-dollar brands. She has designed for globally recognized names including Guess Childrenswear, Disney (Hannah Montana), Nickelodeon, and Mattel (Monster High). As the creative force behind the Mary-Kate and Ashley line for Walmart/Asda, she scaled the brand to $80M in sales and earned accolades such as Disney Licensor of the Year and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award. Known for mentoring and leading large creative teams, Debbie blends innovation with business strategy to translate ideas into successful, trend-driven fashion. Today, she channels her expertise into teaching children and adults the craft of sewing, fashion design, and upcycling.
